April 18, 2008, Newsletter Issue #80: LoJack Security Device

Tip of the Week

One of the leading automobile anti-theft devices is the LoJack security device. Many anti-theft devices can stop thieves from stealing vehicles, but the LoJack works after a theft is reported. Once a theft is reported, the police activate a transceiver hidden in the vehicle. The transceiver emits a signal that police use to track the vehicle. This makes it possible for the police to recover and return it to the right owner within a matter of hours.

Statistics show that the LoJack security device helps police recover the vehicle 95 percent of the time. Cars without a LoJack are recovered only 62 percent of the time. For information on having LoJack installed in your car, talk to your car dealer or visit the manufacturer's website.
